Tooth Fillings and Bonding
The term filling comes from the build up or repair of an area where a cavity was removed. Dental bonding is a material used to fill this area to change the shape or color or other aesthetic aspects of the tooth.
Composite Fillings (Tooth-Colored Fillings)
After the removal of a cavity, you have the choice of a tooth-colored white filling, often called composite fillings, gold, or the use of a dark filling or amalgam filling. Many patients choose white composite fillings because they look like natural teeth and are less noticeable than dark fillings.
Once the filling has been placed by the dentist, your bite will be checked and adjusted, if necessary, for alignment.
